sad to see it go… learned loads about Legends and a fair bit of other useful bits and bobs from it… but more importnatly downloaded some ace Legends, Club4, Hacienda, etc etc mixes from the mixing bowl and subsequently picked up some ace old tunes. I’ve only just found out about this site and I am fookin’ gutted. I’m sat here covered in tiger balm awaiting an onslaught on pianos and buzzin’ e tunes, now I’ll have to settle for Now That What I Call Rave vol 107,
I only went Legends from 93-94 on alternate Saturdays and I was really looking forward to catching up with all the old posse and swapping gurns.
Don’t be scared of my old neck lump, that popped a few years back after standing too close to the bass bins in Bowlers, apologies for anyone that was in close range.

Jimmy I never pulled it cause of our disscusion I thought that was the best thread on there for a long time it’s other people getting upset for you and also it being know as an old skool web site we were far from it apart from a couple of mixes from back in the day we were about any music that was good, but we were only attracting old skool people and thats not what myself Nog or Mark are about we all love new music as well as old.
There is nothing wrong with old skool house music i love it if its good quality old House but I hate the one dimensional thinking old skooler who infiltrates boards that don’t want to be pigeon holed like Legends, I hope I am making myself clear and that people understand where im coming from if we had walked away and just left it it would of become just another old skool board and it wasn’t.

Shame its ended the way it has , i wasnt the biggest user of the board , but will defo use it again if it is brought back , as for the non oldskool thing i dont agreee as from what i saw , quite a large percentage of the heads on there are still big into the oldskool scene with the mixes , rips etc
End of day its not my call tho , but i do think if you take out the oldskool element of the board it will defo lose some of its appeal , but thats just my opinion

Yes, it attracted the super knobs but so did the club scene way back when. I just ignore them verbally and stick the V’s at my monitor.

Jimmy he was one of our original members a legends legend and a big contributor to the forum and an open minded film and Music fan who also got pissed off with some of the people who wondered over to the board but if a few more of these people turn up it’s worth considering putting it back.

I agree about the commonality most people had to the board (basically growing up in the NW in the early 90s). We may not be 19 anymore but looking back at crazy times is a fun thing to do with your peers, especially those who have moved on and had interesting careers and life experiences since. Hoping the board returns with a mature attitude.

I have no idea what went on or why to close the board (even after reading through all this). I can’t really see how much hassle it could be once it is already setup?! Personally i’d let it fizzle out rather than cut it off.
If it was arguing on the board then i’m afraid you have to recognise that this happens on every forum, friend’s argue! Fact!
But to me the post-Legends days were all about being somewhere (anywhere in the world) and seeing someone you recognise and saying ‘do i know you?’ ‘did you go to legends?’ - and then the friendly banter would commence.
The funny thing is i just met a couple of people over in Ibiza (who were out there enjoying the cutting edge music of today) and told them about the board, they were well chuffed!
I never really saw it as an old-school board, more like people with the same mispent youth as me who had all moved on but remembered their roots.

The Berlin wall comes down the US invade Iraq, Bill Hicks dies and Mike turns the site off…………all calamities in their own right but if someone feels so strong about it get off ya arse and do something. People generally are so empathetic about doing things because everythng was on a plate, so much work went into making things right.

CTT was on about some maintenance wasn’t he? Probably just that I reckon as you say just getting a blank page is strange, you would expect an error if the board had been pulled alltogether.

FYI All.. it was a technical problem.. Mark had fixed it, but it appears that the problem’s re-occurred.. don’t panic.. the board hasn’t closed.. it’s just an IT issue..
